You deserve to give yourself what you need.
Therapy Fees
Maryam Yasmin Therapy & Consulting is primarily a private-pay and out-of-network practice. Most clients pay the full session fee at the time of service. If your insurance plan includes out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill for possible reimbursement.
I also participate in specific insurance-based pathways that align with my commitment to culturally responsive care, disability access, and reducing barriers to meaningful mental health services.
A limited number of tiered and sliding-scale appointments are also available to support accessibility. Please see the FAQ’s below for details.
Insurance Access Pathways
Kaiser Permanente
I am an in-network provider for eligible members insured by Kaiser Permanente of the Mid Atlantic States in DC and Maryland.
I chose to participate with Kaiser because its integrated model and language-access resources align particularly well with my work with immigrant, refugee, multilingual, and culturally diverse communities.
Maryland Medicaid — Coming Soon
I have been approved as a Maryland Medicaid provider and am awaiting completion of the remaining Carelon enrollment and activation process.
I am not yet able to schedule or bill Maryland Medicaid sessions. This page will be updated when Medicaid-covered scheduling becomes available.
Private Pay and Support Navigating OON Benefits
For clients using private pay or out-of-network (OON) benefits, I have partnered with Thrizer, a third-party service that can verify estimated benefits and submit claims on your behalf.
Once your deductible has been met, Thrizer may allow you to pay only your estimated coinsurance at the time of service rather than the full session fee. Once your deductible is met, Thrizer allows you to pay only your co-insurance at the time of service instead of the full session fee.
Standard Individual Session Rates
$225 per 45-60 minute session
$340 per 90 minute session
You can check your OON benefits using my practice’s Thrizer benefit’s calculator below:
Other Services & Fees
Clinical Supervision
*$150 per 50-60 minute individual supervision session (provisionally professionals)
$200 per 50-60 minute individual supervision/consultation session (fully licensed professionals)
$225 per 50-60 minute “one-off” professional consultation session (pre-licensed & fully licensed professionals)
$50 per 60 minute group supervision session
*If you are provisionally licensed (LMSW, LGPC, LGMFT) and have your own private practice, the fee for supervision is equal to the out-of-pocket session fee you charge your clients. If your session fee is less than $150, my minimum supervision fee of $150 still applies. Supervision is considered a tax deductible business expense. If you work for an agency and are unable to afford this fee, please reach out to discuss group supervision.
Immigration Evaluations
$1,500 - standard fee for a comprehensive evaluation and written report with at least four weeks needed to complete the process
$2,000 - expedited fee if the report is needed within two weeks or less
Payment plans are available with monthly or biweekly installments, and a limited number of reduced-fee options are available.

At this time, most openings are for virtual therapy. In-person sessions are offered when availability allows and may be limited.
In-person sessions are conducted at the Hope & Wellness Healing Center - 3500 Boston St., Ste. 432, Baltimore, MD 21224
Please Note: Due to state licensing regulations, teletherapy sessions can only be conducted with clients who are physically located in Maryland, D.C., or Virginia at the time of their teletherapy session. Some exceptions made for international clients.

My practice remains primarily private pay and out of network. Private-pay clients receive superbills for possible out-of-network reimbursement and may use Thrizer for optional claims support.
I am also an in-network provider for eligible Kaiser Permanente members through Headway. Kaiser is currently the only commercial insurance pathway available through my practice. Headway manages Kaiser eligibility verification and insurance billing; therapy is provided directly by me through Maryam Yasmin Therapy & Consulting.
Maryland Medicaid access is coming soon. I have been approved as a Maryland Medicaid provider and am awaiting final Carelon enrollment and activation before I can schedule or bill Medicaid-covered appointments.

I’ve partnered with a third-party payment processor called Thrizer, which can help manage the out-of-network reimbursement process.
This is completely optional and simply a resource for clients who would prefer help with submitting superbills or managing insurance claims. Many clients tell me they fully intend to submit their superbills but life gets busy and it falls to the bottom of the list — Thrizer can take that task off your plate.
A key benefit: After your deductible is met, Thrizer allows you to pay only your co-insurance for sessions instead of the full fee.
How it works:
Let me know if you're interested and I will send you an invite link.
You create an account and enter your insurance and billing information.
Thrizer verifies your out-of-network benefits.
Session payments are processed through Thrizer (instead of the client portal), and they automatically submit claims to insurance after each session.
Thrizer Pricing structure
Pre-deductible: Free claim submission while you work toward your deductible
Post-deductible options:
1% fee — Thrizer submits claims while you continue paying the full session fee
5% fee — You only pay your estimated co-insurance at the time of session, and Thrizer waits for reimbursement directly from your insurance
Note: I do not receive any kickbacks or financial incentives from Thrizer — they simply act as a payment processor if you choose to use the service. If you don't - nothing changes: sessions are paid via the client portal and you can submit your superbills as usual. Because Thrizer is a separate company, any questions about reimbursement estimates, claim status, or billing through their platform will need to be directed to their support team.

I offer a limited number of reduced-fee therapy slots for clients who need financial accessibility. These openings are reserved for ongoing weekly therapy and are based on availability. Sliding scale spaces are intentionally limited so I can balance accessibility with sustainability in my practice. Please inquire about current availability.
Pro bono services are not available at this time. If you are in need of free or low-cost therapy, I recommend the Open Path Psychotherapy Collective and the Maryland Pro Bono Counseling Project.
If you have an HMO or other insurance plan without out-of-network benefits, and are unable to pay out of pocket, please contact your insurance carrier for a list of in-network providers.

Absolutely not! Regardless of how you identify, if you think we may be aligned please reach out for a consultation. I also want to make it abundantly clear that I affirm and work with LBTQIA2S folx. Positionality is important - I’m a cis-het woman and if you need a therapist who personally understand your LBTQIA2S+ experience, I’m more than happy to provide you with referrals for queer therapists in your community.
